Returning to the Spiritual Hometown: A Leisurely Alishan Getaway with Ms. V and Her Parents

Returning to the Spiritual Hometown: A Leisurely Alishan Getaway with Ms. V and Her Parents

In our day-to-day journey as travel creators, we often meet a truly special group of travelers—Overseas Taiwanese who have lived abroad for years or moved away at a young age, yet carry a deep, quiet yearning for this island in their hearts. Every so often, they embark on a journey back "home" with their loved ones. Near the end of summer, we received a message from Ms. V, who lives overseas. She wished to take advantage of her visit back to Taiwan to take her parents to a forest sanctuary they had long dreamed of visiting: Alishan in Chiayi. To us, this wasn't just a 3-day, 2-night trip; it was a heartwarming reunion, helping a traveler reconnect her family with the enduring beauty of Taiwan.

Reconnecting with Taiwan: A Leisurely Two-City Getaway to Taipei and Yilan with Mr. & Mrs. G from Singapore

On your first trip to Taiwan, it’s natural to want to check off every single popular spot on the map. But by the second or third visit, the meaning of travel shifts—it becomes about simply living in the moment. For Mr. and Mrs. G from Singapore, Taiwan’s signature warmth was already wonderfully familiar. This time, they chose to slow down, using Taipei as a cozy home base to leisurely venture outward. No rushed sightseeing, just holding hands, catching the sea breeze, and savoring the aroma of fine whisky. After all, the perfect journey is about exploring a familiar country with the right person, discovering hidden gems you never knew existed.
