Yehliu Geopark is divided into three main areas, each with its own unique characteristics.
Area 1: Mushroom Rock Zone

This area is home to various mushroom rock formations, including the popular Cute Princess, Ice Cream Rock, and Candle Rock. These are must-see attractions in Area 1.
Cute Princess

Known as the "successor" to the Queen's Head, the Cute Princess bears a striking resemblance to the iconic rock with 70-80% similarity. It is also a naturally formed mushroom rock and is located in Area 1 near the park entrance, making it easy to find.
With nearly 4,000 years of history, the Queen's Head faces severe weathering and erosion issues. Its neck circumference has reduced to about 118.9 cm and continues to shrink. Experts predict it may collapse within the next 5-15 years. To preserve the allure of the park's geological wonders, the Cute Princess, resembling a ponytail, has been chosen as the new representative landmark.
Area 2: Queen's Head Zone
Area 2 is the most famous zone in Yehliu Geopark, featuring iconic attractions such as the Queen's Head, Fairy Shoe, and Peanut Rock.
Queen's Head

Named after its elegant profile resembling a queen's side face, the Queen's Head has been a renowned landmark in Keelung since its first photograph in 1962. Standing at about 8 meters tall and over 4,000 years old, this iconic mushroom rock was formed through coastal erosion and rapid tectonic uplift.
However, due to severe weathering, touching the Queen's Head is now prohibited, and visitors can only photograph it from a distance.
Area 3: Marine Erosion Platform Zone

Known as the "Queen's Secret Garden," this area covers about 80% of the park. Highlights include Twenty-Four Filial Piety Rocks, Weathered Windows, Tofu Rocks, Beehive Rocks, and Coastal Erosion Potholes.
These unique geological formations were created over centuries through coastal erosion, rock weathering, and tectonic activity. Stretching about 1,700 meters into the sea, the park is an extension of the Datun Mountain Range. Its natural wonders make Yehliu Geopark a giant outdoor classroom, offering educational insights into geological processes and making it a highly recommended destination for family trips.
