It is rumored that a long time ago, after pursuing spiritual practice for more than 100 years, the spirit of a wild boar learned to transform itself into a human. One day, a beautiful celestial woman came to the earthly world and had a bath near the sea. She placed her clothes close to the shore, and when the spirit of the wild boar saw it, he secretly stole them. When the woman had finished bathing, she could not find her clothes, and was unable to return to her own realm. Hiding in the forest crying, the spirit of the wild boar appeared and forced the celestial woman to marry him, promising to return her clothes. At first, the woman pretended to agree with this plan. But after her clothes had been returned, the woman put her clothes on right away and rose to the sky, leaving the spirit of the wild boar alone. From that time on, he was terribly saddened and spent all his days crying, eventually dying of melancholy. Even though the name Wild Boar Ditch makes it sound pretty dramatic, don’t worry, there is not a single wild boar in Wild Boar Ditch! This place is a must for those who love observing nature.
