Wushibi

Formed by lava from a volcanic eruption, Wushibi is a dark rock cape in the sea southeast to a fishing village that bears the same name. As the largest volcanic rock column in Taiwan, Wushibi located in Taitung is famous for its unique geological formation, which has been eroded by water over the years. These tide pools and long narrow ditches caused by wave erosion happen to support a rich and diverse intertidal marine community. Many locals come here to pick up all kinds of catches and shellfish.

Other popular activities on the cape include diving and rock fishing. Every February, a significant number of anglers gather here, sitting or standing, waiting to reel in the big rubberfish. If fishing is not your thing, just so you know, Wushibi Port is a perfect spot to watch the romantic sunsets. You may also choose to sit in the pavilion overlooking the Pacific Ocean to watch the tiny fishing boats blissfully drifting on the crashing waves against a golden sunset. Can you imagine anything more relaxing than this?
