Donghe Baozi

For more than forty years, Donghe Baozi has been pleasing the taste buds of locals and tourists alike with the delightfully flavorful baos that are soft and puffy, all served fresh and hot directly from the steamer. The succulent filling will warm the mouth with every bite and have all fussy palates addicted.

There are several types of baos and steamed breads to choose from. Baos come in different flavors: those with sesame, red bean, peanut, scallion and brown sugar fillings are for vegetarians, while those with meat, pickled vegetables and bamboo shoot fillings are not. Soymilk, black tea or meatball soup can also go with the bao, making it a filling and satisfying snack.

If you are a bao connoisseur, no need to drive for forty kilometers from the city of Taitung to come all the way here simply for a bao — there are so many other great eats worth exploring in the city.
