Early spring is greeted by the blush cherry blossoms that emerge from pink buds, and meanwhile, Yangming Park is overflowing with tourists who flock to admire these blooming flowers when the weather is fair. If you are going between February and March on a sunny weekend, prepare to deal with the crowds and a busy parking lot. To ensure the quality of your visit, the surrounding traffic control might be implemented. In that case, taking a bus from Shilin will be a good way to reach the park. Food stalls are abundant near the parking lot to feed your tummy nice and full with loads of local snacks.
The sizable Yangming Park is known as the backyard of Taipei, and the layout is typical of classic Chinese garden architecture with a pond, several offshooting streams and waterfalls gliding down through the crack of rocks. As many different kinds of flowers can be found here, from cherry blossoms, plum blossoms to camellias and azaleas, the landscape changes throughout the four seasons. Yangming Park is not only a prime location for appreciating the cherry blossoms in Taiwan but also places with gorgeous beauty offering cool and quiet serenity.
