Wendel's

The founder of Wendel's German Bakery & Bistro is the third generation of a prestigious German baking family, and currently there are three locations in the city of Taipei. Its success lies in attentive service and a young, spirited team whose enthusiasm is evident in the modern, original versions of the classic German dishes, bread and desserts served here. The price is not the most affordable one but with the quality, it is fair.

Talking about German food, how can we miss out on the roasted ham hock and sausages? At Wendel’s, the tender and juicy pork knuckle served with sauerkraut and mustard is wrapped in a salty and roasted-crisp skin, creating a texture and flavor sensation in your mouth. The sausages served with the buttery mashed potatoes are juicy and tangy with just the right amount of kick. Another specialty is the tarte flambée, made with figs, sour cream, ham, beet greens and cheese, giving a crispy and refreshing touch to the meal. The bread and desserts that come in a diverse variety are undoubtedly made in heaven. Regardless of what you order, mains or sweets, you can expect generous portions, a good price and high quality food.
