Hidden between the back streets near Chiang Kai-shek Memorial Hall, this eatery doesn’t have an obvious signboard, the seating is quite limited as well, but it is a mecca where all the spicy lovers go.
Tianfu Noodle serves up authentic Sichuan-style mala noodles, and “burning noodles” are the signature dish here, which is not to be missed for every first-time visitor. Reduced appetite is often expected in the sweltering summertime, but the Sichuan cold noodles, refreshing and savory at the same time, will surely whet your appetite. If you are looking for nothing but the fiery bursts of chili heat, the beef noodles without soup mixed with minced beef and the extremely spicy sauce will satisfy you and get your palate buzzing. But this fiery numb spicy bowl of noodles is for seasoned spicy food eaters only — you have been warned, unless you want to get all sweaty from head to toe. The Chongqing chilled chicken in spicy bean paste is rather mild despite the fact that it looks ultra-spicy, too. Finally, make sure you try some meat dumplings in spicy sauce that are different from those you have at other noodle shops. You don’t see a scary amount of red sauce in that bowl; instead, the dumplings are filled with the rich sesame oil. The moment when you give it a bite, the perfectly seasoned pork filling and rivers of hot, flavorful soup will burst out in your mouth and leave you craving for more!
