Takemura

Takemura is located in a little lane in Xinyi District. Standing at its door and looking north west, you are able to get an uninterrupted view of what was once the tallest building in the world, Taipei 101. Like izakaya in Japan, Takemura opens at 5 o'clock in the evening and closes at 1 o’clock in the morning. This makes it the destination of choice for people to relax at after work. But there is a special reason this bar is so well known. In addition to its affordable and delicious yakitori (串燒), a popular TV drama being filmed here recently has meant that droves of people have started flocking here. In 2011, Ariel Lin (林依晨) and Chen Bolin (陳柏霖) from Taiwan's popular TV drama In Time with You often came here to eat late night snacks and drink Taiwan Beer. Fans of the show have now started experiencing their own celebrity dates, sitting with their partner at the bar, enjoying a meal and chatting with the boss. In addition to the semi-outdoor seating area and bar, there is also indoor space, but the seats are very small and crowded. There are many dishes on offer here, whether it be appetizers, yakitori or fried dishes. If you need help choosing, the onigiri (rice balls, 飯糰) are delicious, and their rich sauce and aroma make them suitable for accompanying a glass of wine.
