In Taipei, there are cafes with diverse themes, yet a tea house is rarely seen. However, near the Costco in Neihu stands Old Story, a restaurant with vintage decor: lion head door knockers on the gate, lanterns hanging from the ceiling, a coir raincoat fixed on the wall, red-brick arches, a small pond with a waterwheel in the center, and private rooms separated by wooden windows. On the shelves, there are all sorts of magazines for customers to browse. Most of the dishes are priced at about TWD200. For Chinese cuisine, it provides congbaoniu (fried beef with scallions, 蔥爆牛), Thai-style chicken, fried tutuoyu (mackerel, 𩵚魠魚), and spicy hot pot. The restaurant also offers delicacies from other countries, such as pasta, udon noodles, and small pizzas. The beverages and snacks here are quite similar to those in a typical teahouse in Taichung. In brief, Old Story is a spacious dining choice with private rooms. People working in Neihu Technology Park and families living in the neighborhood love to enjoy their dinner here after work. The prices of the dishes are considered competitive in Taipei, but unfortunately the beverages are somewhat dull.
