Located near Taipei City Zoo, National Chengchi University is renowned for its colleges of business, communication as well as foreign languages and literature. Many of the graduates have later become celebrities, such as Matilda Tao (singer and tv show host), James Shao (the former governor of Taiwan Province), Arthur Hsieh (tv host), Da-you Lo (singer) and Tom Chang (singer). Due to the factors of departments and major study fields, the university has an obvious disparity between the proportion of male and female students, with the latter accounting for a near 70% of total number of students. Its campus area is smaller than that of National Taiwan University, yet the footpaths in the mountain behind the university are beautiful during blossom seasons. The gorgeous night scenes there also attracts many people.
