It is incalculable to give the number of burger stores in Taipei, but Aniki Burger does settle itself in this competitive market with combination of Japanese building, Taiwanese interior style and burgers in fusion of Oriental and Western flavor. Because the location is not easy to find and the outlook is not an eye-catching one, people might easily miss out the place when the space in front is filled with parked scooters. Although the interior is in a Taiwanese mood, Aniki Burger does not offer oyster vermicelli (蚵仔麵線) alongside usual burger menu like Dan Dan Burger (丹丹漢堡) in south Taiwan. It is still an American style burger store. Most burgers on the menu are just average standard in terms of taste, but the Taiwanese ones are quite special, such as fried tofu burger, pineapple prawns burger and pork burger with garlic sauce. These burgers could be the first step for foreigners to try Chinese cuisine and new options for Asians tired of classic flavor. The restaurant is also full of mix-and-match and conflicting elements: the bar table is made with red bricks and dining tables are remodeled from pinball machines, while bamboo rain hat, Tatung’s shop sign and super-vintage hair dryer are hanged on the wall.
