Starbucks - Taipei 101

If you want to enjoy the astounding view from atop Taipei 101 but don’t want to spend TWD500 on the admission fee, make your way up to the famous Starbucks on the 35th floor in the Taipei 101 building.

You can go up there by appointment only. If you do not call at least one day in advance to make the appointment, you will be denied entry. At your scheduled appointment time, a Starbucks staff will appear with a list and a bunch of number cards, who will then lead you and the rest of the patrons to board the elevator and go up to the 35th floor. Another thing to take note is that they do ask for a minimum order of TWD200. Each appointment slot lasts only 90 minutes, so make full use of the time to enjoy your coffee and the view. The working/office crowd at Taipei 101 obviously are not subject to these rules as they have the access cards for employees.

When the sky is clear, visitors can soak in the magnificent view over the Taipei basin. If you happen to come before dusk, sit back and watch the sun go down until the golden glow disappears and the stars come up. Make sure you take the the window seats as the view is good from all angles.
