When leaving Jiannan Road Station by taking MRT Muzha (brown) Line, you will always notice a weird sturcture on your right. It is a kind of shaped in spacecraft and giant wooden treehouse. Actually, it is a restaurant once having branches in cities all over Taiwan. Probably because of over-paced expansion, this latest Neihu branch is the very last one of the brand for now.

Theme restaurants are hard to carry on in Taiwan. Those survivors make their chance by potent promotion and attraction of foreign customers, while remaining others provide excellent dishes to gain support of even local residents. We believe this last branch of Five Dime has both above advantages to make its way in such competitive catering market. Apart from its special façade, the inner part is also designated to bring out an atmosphere of rainforest: a canoe floating on the indoor pond which is in the center of the restaurant, irregular-shaped chairs, walls full of totemic symbols, peculiar-looking poles, sculptures out of deadwood, etc. There are plenty of seats in restaurant and the space is large, so you can just walk in without making reservation. You can easily get here by MRT on a whim. As its location is close to Miramar Entertainment Park, you can visit for your meal by foot after your Ferris wheel trip or movie if you are tired of dining in department store.

The dishes here are mainly in Chinese and Taiwanese style. In earlier time, the restaurant uses its own-baked bowls and plates as tableware. Despite the irregular shape and quality, it does become a distinctive feature of the restaurant. We guess, however, most of them were already broken, as the restaurant has changed to use industrial product.
