With a large percentage of its residents being students, the neighborhood surrounding National Taiwan University’s campus is literally dominated by independent coffee houses that are in tune with the community. One of the most representative is hidden on the second floor of New Moon Pavilion and named Café Trouvé. Exhibitions and lectures are often held, and all sorts of good reads can also be found here, making it a true student haven. Meals and beverages are prepared with environmentally friendly practices and made from Fairtrade or organic ingredients. The flavors all come through well with no artificial overtones, allowing diners to enjoy a healthy hearty meal.

The menu is extensive and has something for everyone, from salad, light meals, desserts to coffee, tea beverages, beer and freshly squeezed juice. If there is one thing better than sitting down to a nice cup of coffee, that has to be sitting down to a nice cup of coffee and a piece of orange pound cake topped with a scoop of ice cream and garnished with a slice of lemon — that is what many patrons of Café Trouvé find themselves doing in the afternoon. If you are here for lunch or dinner, the fragrant pork chops with rice & fried shallots or the flavorful tomato & olive pasta, both coming with the soup of the day, will a sheer delight for your hungry tummy.
