Xinglin Hospital has been abandoned for more than twenty years. As it has not been managed, and its medical equipment were scattered throughout it, rumors say that the premises is full of ghosts. In fact, Xinglin Hospital was once voted the most haunted house in Taiwan. Because the hospital was found to be fraudulent in the past, it was ordered to suspend its business by the government in 1993. However, after its closure, the hospital was not dismantled, and much medical equipment and many hospital beds were left in the rooms, causing rumors of supernatural phenomena to spread like wildfire. If you enter, you will see all kinds of discarded bottles of medicine, sick beds and a mortuary, giving you a certain sense of gloominess.

Many brave young people embolden an evening here, maybe as a dare. Photographers sometimes prepare bloody pigs’ livers or intestines and shoot people lying on the operating table in order to make all kinds of scary and provocative photos. But the rumor which is most frightening is related to the atrium on the seventh floor, where some say you can see a mysterious lady sweeping the floor. Rumor has it that she used to be one of the hospital cleaning staff, and has come back to haunt the hospital. However, because many people have broken in Xinglin Hospital over the years, the abandoned equipment here has gradually been depleted, such that if you come here today, you will find only a few bottles of medicine, some operating tables, a few abandoned beds, tables, chairs and towels, as well as broken windows on all sides. Nevertheless, a visit here is not for the faint-hearted!
