Lecheng Temple in Taichung, located in the Hanxi area of the city’s East District, is a renowned temple dedicated to the worship of the Heavenly Holy Mother (Mazu). It is also famous for its Yue Lao Hall, regarded by many devotees as one of the most efficacious matchmaker temples in Taiwan. The temple features a double-eaved Xieshan-style architectural design, with its unique front hall roof serving as a distinctive highlight that instantly evokes the atmosphere of traditional culture.


Lecheng Temple is not only a center of religious devotion but also an important cultural asset. Due to its architecture, artifacts, and annual pilgrimage processions, it has been designated as a municipal historic site, representing the rich folk culture of Taichung City.


At Lecheng Temple, in addition to religious activities, there are numerous opportunities for cultural exchange. The annual Hanjing Mazu Pilgrimage event, which visits eighteen villages, is a significant local folk activity. Additionally, the temple houses a cultural and historical museum, providing both devotees and visitors with a chance to gain deeper insights into the temple's history and culture.
