National Taiwan Museum of Fine Arts

Attraction stories

The National Taiwan Museum of Fine Arts is the only national-level art museum in Taiwan and one of the largest in Asia. It houses 24 exhibition halls and regularly hosts art exhibitions featuring Western painting, Chinese painting, sculpture, and other art forms, as well as a collection of rare and unusual items.

In addition to special exhibitions, the National Taiwan Museum of Fine Arts offers free admission, allowing visitors to immediately appreciate the modern and expansive architecture. The exterior is constructed with natural stone, while the interior features large glass windows that allow natural light to create an atmosphere of intersecting light and shadow. The museum's various exhibitions cover Taiwanese art history, international art exchanges, and include a library and information center, audio-visual art hall, and a children's picture book area, providing spaces for learning and leisure.

Located conveniently in the center of Taichung City, the museum is surrounded by lush greenery on the Art Lane and the Park Lane, exuding a European and Japanese charm. There are numerous restaurants and cafes on either side, offering exotic cuisine and delicacies, allowing visitors to enjoy leisurely moments alongside their art appreciation.
