There are two most prestigious souvenirs in Taichung: pineapple cake and sun biscuit. Almost all the sun biscuit bakeries are located near the TRA Taichung Station, even a couple dozen of them on the Ziyou Road, but only a few of them are genuine old brands and worth recommending. One of the most recommended bakeries is the Master Aming Suncake.
On weekdays, when there are fewer customers, you will be served with a piece of sun biscuit and a cup of hot tea immediately for you to taste before purchase. Unlike other bakeries which bake their sun biscuits in a central factory and then deliver them to the shop for sale, Master Aming Suncake have their bakery right next to the shop, products would be directly packed and sold right out of the oven. Apart from their famous sun biscuit, there are other pastries such as pine nut pastry and scholar pastry. The desserts you will find here are way better then the ones sold in train stations.
