Hometown of Bamboo

Standing on the only way to Xinshe from Taichung downtown, Dakeng has been playing a more important part in tourism thanks to the numerous gardens around here and Xinshe Sea of Flowers. However, a delicious restaurant is not easy to find in the area. Most established restaurants are located on the periphery of Dakeng Roundabout, and Hometown of Bamboo, a popular restaurant only available by reservation during the holidays, is worth recommendation. The theme of its interior focuses on bamboo and the agricultural life in early days, and the delicacies it provides are the homemade dishes familiar to the Taiwanese. Most dishes are complemented with bamboo shoots, which make them savory but not greasy. The most impressive specialty is the rice served in a bamboo tube. When chewing the rice, you can feel a trace of bamboo fragrance, and the tube can be taken home as a souvenir after the meal.
