Thousand Island Lake (千島湖) is one of the most representative scenic spots in New Taipei City. It is named Thousand Island Lake (千島湖) because when viewed from the side of the Feitsui Reservoir, the irregular hilly terrain in this area looks like the Thousand Island Lake (千島湖) in mainland China. This area is also a famous tea-producing region in northern Taiwan, and visitors can also visit the renowned Bagua Tea Garden.

Thousand Island Lake (千島湖) is considered a hidden gem in New Taipei City, offering a tranquil escape to admire the picturesque lake and mountains near Taipei. Visitors can also look for the silhouette of Crocodile Island in Shiding Thousand Island Lake (千島湖)! It is said that the area gained fame after a photographer's accidental exposure of the photos taken here, attracting many photography enthusiasts to visit, making it a popular attraction in Shiding.

The name Thousand Island Lake (千島湖) is derived from a viewpoint near the Feitsui Reservoir, surrounded by irregular hilly terrain that resembles the Thousand Island Lake (千島湖) in mainland China. The terrain and climate near the Feitsui Reservoir are ideal for tea cultivation, especially for Taiwan's renowned Wenshan Baozhong tea and Oriental Beauty tea. Therefore, this area is a famous tea-producing region in northern Taiwan, with the famous Bagua Tea Garden located below Thousand Island Lake (千島湖).

If traveling by car, it is recommended to park at the white lines in front of the observation deck, as the road further down is steep. From the observation deck, you can admire the panoramic view of the lake, and then slowly walk down to Thousand Island Lake (千島湖).

There is a small restaurant next to the observation deck where you can enjoy some snacks and drinks. For photography enthusiasts, the scenery is most stunning in the afternoon, with a breathtaking sunset right before your eyes, leaving you amazed!
