In the northeast part of Taiwan, the shape of the coastline resembles a prostrate dragon, hence the name Longdong (dragon’s cave). Featuring abundant marine life and translucent water with perfect visibility, Longdong is the largest bay on the Northeast Coast and paradise for divers and snorkelers alike.
Longdong is divided into two recreational areas: Longdongwan Park (龍洞灣公園) and Longdong South Ocean Park (龍洞南口海洋公園), respectively noted for impressive geological landscapes and myriads of water activities. The sandstone cliffs that rise to an imposing height is what makes Longdong a rock climbing mecca. With that a 2km-stretch of beautiful golden and grey walls set right by the wild Pacific Ocean, Longdong is definitely a premier climbing destination with fantastic varied climbing at all grades in northern Taiwan. If you are keen to enjoy a rock climbing trip in the great outdoors, then Longdong is everything you ask for.
