Jinshan Duck Meat

Jinbaoli Road is the main route that fishmongers use to transport fish products from the coastal Jinshan to Yangmingshan in the Taipei area. When the fishing industry was in its heyday, Jinshan Old Street was the halfway point, such that the temple there became a gathering place for vendors. Most of Taiwan's night markets and food vendors are gathered around temples, but it is very rare to see them prepare the ingredients and do business inside the temple. Therefore, Jinshan Duck Meat is one of the exceptions; its kitchen is inside the temple. Tourists wait in the queue until they get to the front door to order their meal. Then they carry duck meat to the dining area opposite the temple. This explains why there are so many people carrying plates walking back and forth between the temple on Jinshan Old Street! Because Jinshan Duck Meat is a famous cuisine, every visitor who comes here does not leave without trying a plate. Indeed, business is so good that the brand has three storefronts scattered along the Old Street. Besides the fragrant oily duck meat, deep fried shrimp rolls (炸蝦卷) and fried noodles (炒麵) are visible on almost every table. After you finish your meal, you need to ask the staff at the entrance to clean your table and pay them the bill. If you order a beverage, you also need to let them know. You can’t miss trying the famous Jinshan Duck Meat!
