Founded in 1935, Sanxiecheng (三協成) was a well-known pastry shop in Tamsui during the Japanese Colonial Era. Even though decades have gone by since, the legacy never will. Sanxiecheng found innovation in tradition and turned itself a cake museum, where nostalgic tastes and cultural arts are combined in one single space. Today, Sanxiecheng is an international brand that connects the old town of Tamsui with the whole wide world.
Be it on weekdays or weekends, Sanxiecheng Cake Museum is always teeming with foodies. Free samples of yummilicious pastries are given out, and their famed “wax gourd meat pies” (冬瓜肉餅) are especially not to be missed. The owner Lee Zhi-ren (李志仁) is a dedicated collector, patron and supporter of arts, which explains why the museum is also home to a gallery of impressive local arts.
The pastries here has a vibrant mix of traditions and modern touches that creates a whole new experience for the senses and represents this historic brand itself the best. If you are looking for something to tantalize your palate in Tamsui, Sanxiecheng won’t disappoint.
