Located in the Gongguan Township of Miaoli and having derived its name from the nearby Wugu Temple, Wugu Cultural Village is a “tourism factory” that combines industry, economy and culture together with creative and novel elements. An informative tour through the factory will help you have better ideas about the traditional industry of ceramics as well as other local highlights such as hakka rice and silk artworks.
Covering an area of 15,500 m2, the cultural village is divided into seven different sections, and each one is unique in its own way. It is open to the public with free admission, and no reservation is required. The tour guide will give you an insightful look into the making of ceramics. A myriad of hands-on activities are also available onsite, inclusive of ceramic painting, cookie, ground tea and hakka baozi making. The souvenir shop that sits behind the factory will amaze you with a wealth of delicate artworks, all available at very affordable prices.
