Taiyen Museum

Taiwan Museum is currently Taiwan's only tourist factory to produce edible salt. Here, you can buy all sorts of salt related products, as well as learn about the production process of salt through the detailed exhibitions on show. The hot spring inside the factory also provides a great opportunity for tourists to rest their feet for a moment. This water is a by-product of salt production and is heated for the comfort of the guests. It is said to relieve stress and promote blood circulation. But the main reason that many tourists come here is in fact to try the Taiyen popsicles (臺鹽的冰棒), of which there are a wide range of flavors. The most famous would have to be the Salty Popsicle (鹹冰棒) though! In addition to popsicles, there is also a huge variety of salt related merchandise available, many of which are well worth taking home with you as souvenirs. And when you take a wander outside the building, don’t be surprised if you see a train coming into the level crossing in the park! Take note that if groups would like to see the actual production process of the salt at Taiyen Museum, they will need to book in advance.
