Shilianyuan

Taiwan has inherited lots of Japanese culture and one of them is the innate interest towards railways and trains. It somewhat explains why so many people would go to Alishan to take forest railway for the dawn, visit Sanyi Station in Miaoli which is no longer in use, or even travel afar to Duoliang (多良), Taitung just to witness the train moving along Pacific Ocean. And there are people using the discarded train as an installation art decoration outside nostalgic restaurant. To go even further, Shilianyuan in Miaoli allows guests to sleep in the old train placed on their lotus pond. Such special experience certainly poses a deadly attraction to railfans and children. Apart from accommodation, the place also adapts train cabins as dining area for customers. The grassland and playground facilities make the place suits for family to spend their day as well. Across the road outside entrance is already the coast, it would give you a great memory to sit in the pavilion while watching sunset.
