No.24, Baliaowan, Dahu Township, Miaoli County 364, Taiwan (R.O.C.)

Surrounded by mountains on four sides, the Dahu Township of Miaoli bask in a fine climate which boasts plenty of sunshine and has rich fertile soil which helps grow plenty of ripe strawberries. Two-thirds of the townsmen make a living on a crop of strawberries, and Dahu is therefore known as a true “strawberry kingdom.” The strawberry season is in autumn and winter (from December to February). During this time of the year, a significant of urban dwellers flood here to pick their own strawberries and enjoy a family day of fun on the farm.

But if you are visiting outside the harvest season, don’t get frustrated yet as Dahu Wineland Resort will make sure your visit is well worth it. Dahu Wineland Resort is the very first winery in Taiwan and in Asia that produces strawberry wine. In case you didn’t know that, together with the US and Canada, it is also one of the only three production centers in the world solely dedicated to strawberry wine. At Dahu Wineland Resort, you will find almost anything with strawberries in it, including strawberry jam, strawberry vinegar, strawberry tofu, strawberry pancakes, strawberry bean curd, strawberry rice flour lath and many more. If you ask nicely, you might be able to try some of them on the first floor, where there is a retail sales area. On the second floor, handicrafts created by local people are available for sale. The third floor is where visitors could learn how these sweet, juicy strawberries are grown. If you want to make your stomach happy, head to the local restaurant on the fourth floor. Once you make it to the top floor, a scenic panoramic view of Dafu Township awaits you.
