No.33, Shifen, Dahu Township, Miaoli County 364, Taiwan (R.O.C.)
Situated in the hidden forested hills of Miaoli, Chateau-in-the-Air is truly a castle worth visiting. The owner spent much effort recreating the atmosphere of a castle lifestyle with various flora, ponds, stones, and iron sculptures. The flowers and welcome garden are replaced almost every season and artists are invited to create works of art and ornaments with the theme of “birds in the sky”.
Wait. Have we mentioned the food? Aren’t we going to have lunch here? Don’t worry, this place is not only for show, but also for satisfying your stomach. You may choose western style steak sets, pig feet with pickles, and seafood sets. Or, if you are a vegetarian, there are numerous creative meals ranging from Thai curry, Italian risotto, to Chinese style hotpot. Even if you’re not up for a meal, you may instead try a pot of flower tea as you enjoy the splendid view.
Oh, it’s not over yet. After the food part, take a stroll to the top floor and you will find a blue lake waiting for you. Liyu (a.k.a. Carp fish) Lake Reservoir is right below the Chateau so the lookout provides a perfect commanding view of the scenery.
