Tianliao Moon World

You may take Provincial Highway 28 back to Kaohsiung or Tainan from east side of Kaohsiung, namely Maolin, Meinong and Qishan. During your journey on this road with little traffic, you would come across Tianliao. The adverse environment and infertile soil make it far from a place for farming. Correspondingly, photographers find that they could take photos which looks like lunar surface with proper circumstance - they thus name these hills as ‘Moon World’. In response to increasing number of tourists, government has enlisted this place as scenic area and installed a comprehensive wooden trail and observation deck, making place more suits for visitors in all ages and families. The latter half of the trail consists more upward and downward stairs, so you should, based on your stamina, decide where to return. It is estimated to be 90 minutes for a round-trip. At night, a projection show with colorful lighting would be held. In comparison with another ‘Moon World’ in Tainan, this one is closer to other attractions and makes it a more convenient stop when drafting a tour. Furthermore, its well-rounded infrastructure is more friendly to a whole family visitors.
