Known as the best dumpling place in Hualien, Lili Baoman serves up homemade dumplings filled with locally sourced pork and fresh veggies. Various flavors include corn, green beans, carrots, pumpkin & cheese, and more. Unlike other dumpling places in Taiwan, Lili Baoman encourages patrons to try as many flavors as they like by allowing them to order each flavor from two pieces on (normally, ten pieces are the minimum). The best way is to go with the assorted dumplings, which is a plate of 10 different dumplings. Carrot dumplings are quite unique in texture, kimchi gives a sour and slightly spicy twist to the dumplings, garlic chive dumplings are flavorful and juicy, cabbages brings out a refreshing taste, and the basil dumplings will delight those who craving for some rich, strong taste. The special hot and spicy sauce gives a spark on the taste buds, and a sensational bowl of sweet & sour soup will tingle your palate.

Only one downside: the owner is not particularly welcoming. But if you want to try some unique dumplings on the cheap, Lili Baoman is still worth a try.
