Huatianle

Hualien’s Huatienle is an affordable restaurant that offers an expansive range of Japanese-style dishes that are simply presented but super yummy. With a great diversity of ingredients in the miso soup, you are definitely assured a good meal if you order it. But the most recommended meals of all have to be okonomiyaki (大阪燒豬排) which is done to perfection, and Tang Yang chicken (唐揚雞塊餐) which is also quite a treat. While the skin of the chicken nuggets may be surprisingly soft in your mouth, the combination of the meat and seasoning will quickly become the only version of fried chicken you can accept, anywhere. Indeed, be sure to taste something (anything!) deep-fried at Huatianle - it is famous for the great taste! But if you are after something healthier, there is also a wide range of fresh vegetables to be ordered, which, accompanied with the specialty sesame paste is also very satisfying. Even the rice here is strangely fragrant, although it looks normal enough. While there is not a lot of seating here, when you do find one at Huatienle, you know it’s been your lucky day!
