Flower Space

Flower Space is a little coffee shop located on a secret lane in downtown Hualien. If you are not paying attention, you will miss it altogether! But what attracts customers here, even more than the extensive afternoon tea menu outside the shop, are the delicate clay works that sit in the window. With attention to detail and grace, these figures are so realistic that they have customers gasping in awe each time they see one in the shop. As well as the selection of pretty little floral teacups on the wooden shelves inside, the wooden exterior of the coffee shop is very cute. With its little hanging pots of purple flowers in the windows and in pot plants out the front, as well as a European style lamp, it is an atmospheric scene on the small lane. However, this is not necessarily really a secret place. In fact, the shop is very full even early in the day. Yet, something about Flower Space gives one the sense of rest and respite among the busy-ness of the city. The small minimum charge per customer (of about the price of a coffee) is not a burden at all, especially because a visit to Flower Space is like a visit to a gallery full of intricate art-works that absolutely deserve your attention.
