Monet Garden B&B

Incorporating natural materials and aboriginal handicrafts, Monet Garden B&B is a modern expression of Maya and Inca’s distinct culture and character. As the first guesthouse ever to open near Liyu Lake in Hualien, Monet Garden B&B might be a bit worn out by now but the hospitality of the host makes up for it.

The host has a long history with Guatemala, a country of striking features and a strong indigenous culture he fell in love with during his travels. He then brought back the charms of Latin America and started running this guesthouse inspired by Mayan and Incan culture. Meanwhile, Monet Garden is also a coffee roastery where the heavenly aroma of coffee always hangs in the air. The host invites his guests to indulge themselves in the most laid-back atmosphere of Liyu Lake as well as the premium coffee that travels all the way from Guatemala.

Hualien boasts an enchanting landscape abundant in serene green mountains and tranquil shimmering lakes — Liyu Lake happens to be one of them. If you choose to stay at Monet Garden B&B, there are loads of outdoor activities to do here, from cycling to kayaking and gliding across the lake in a swan pedal boat. In the scorching hot summer, a quick dip in the refreshing water of Mukumugi or Baibow Stream is another favorite of many.
