Itinerary and Service Hours

If your required service period is for three days or longer, we strongly recommend booking your vehicle at least one month prior to your arrival in Taiwan. This allows us sufficient time to arrange the appropriate vehicle, secure the driver's availability, and maintain flexibility for any itinerary changes or additional services you may require (such as hotel or restaurant reservations). While we can still do our best to arrange vehicles for last-minute bookings, during peak seasons, we unfortunately cannot guarantee the successful reservation of a vehicle or driver-guide for spontaneously booked itineraries.
As long as the city/county and main route remain unchanged, the itinerary can be adjusted on the day—including adding or removing attractions or flexibly changing the stopping time—based on factors like physical stamina, traffic conditions, and weather.
The charter service time starts calculating from the pick-up time, includes driving time and stopovers, and totals 9 hours until the final drop-off time.
We offer four types of charter services: Mandarin Driver, Mandarin Driver-Guide, English Driver, and English Driver-Guide.The difference between a Driver-Guide and a Driver is that, in addition to driving, the Driver-Guide will also accompany the guests to tour the various attractions and provide explanations and commentary. Please note that the Driver-Guide service remains a single individual (who both drives and provides guidance during stops), and it is not a separate Driver plus a separate Tour Guide.
RTR's primary services are itinerary planning and Mandarin/English charter services. Provided you have booked a charter service with us, we can offer additional services such as booking hotels, train tickets, or restaurants for the guests. Quotations for these add-ons will be based on the actual situation and requirements.

Vehicle, Child Safety Seats, and Wheelchairs

When booking a 5-seater, 9-seater, mid-bus, or coach, you cannot specify the exact vehicle model. An appropriate driver (or driver-guide) and vehicle will be assigned based on the dispatch status after your successful booking.
Taiwanese law requires children under 4 years old to be secured in a child safety seat while the vehicle is in motion. If you are traveling with children, please inform us in advance and confirm whether you require a forward-facing or rear-facing seat, and the driver will prepare it.
We can assist with wheelchair rental. Please inform us in advance if you require this service, and the fee will be included in the total quotation.

Quotation Details and Payment

According to Taiwanese law, all legitimate travel agencies must provide Travel Agency Liability Insurance for guests. The coverage limits are as follows:

Accidental death coverage of NT$2.5 million per traveler.Medical expenses for bodily injury caused by accident coverage of NT$100,000 per traveler.

After the itinerary is confirmed, we require the date of birth, passport number, nationality, and emergency contact information for every passenger. If a traveler is unable to provide this information due to privacy concerns, insurance cannot be purchased. We will provide a waiver form for the traveler to sign, and the insurance will not take effect.

The itinerary quotation typically includes the vehicle fee, fuel costs, tolls, insurance and other necessary transportation expenses, as well as the driver's meals and lodging. If you book a driver-guide service, the guiding fee is also included. The quotation generally does not include accommodation, meals, entrance tickets, experience fees, or tips, unless the accommodation and meals are arranged by the travel agency in advance.
For travelers outside of Taiwan, we will provide an online payment link that can be paid via credit card or Google Pay (American Express cards are not supported). Taiwanese travelers may pay via bank transfer. Upon booking confirmation, 30% of the total quotation will be collected as a deposit to secure the vehicle and driver. The final balance must be paid 3 to 5 days before the start of the tour to ensure the trip proceeds.

Cancellation due to Severe Weather or Force Majeure: If the tour is canceled due to severe weather or serious conditions like floods, typhoons, earthquakes, or landslides, and the Taiwanese government officially announces a day off (e.g., for typhoon alert), the trip will be formally canceled, and your paid deposit will be fully refunded.

Customer-Initiated Cancellation Refund Policy (Deposit Refund Percentage):Cancellation 21 days or more (inclusive) before departure: 80% of the deposit will be refunded.Cancellation 3 to 20 days (inclusive) before departure: 70% of the deposit will be refunded.Cancellation within 3 days (inclusive) before departure: No refund will be provided.

Contact and Contingency on the Day

The driver or driver guide's name, phone number, vehicle model, and license plate number will be provided via email the day before your departure.
Please ask the driver to immediately report the situation to the travel agency, or contact our company phone at +886 - 4 - 2436 - 3880. Alternatively, you may contact the travel planner who served you if you received their contact information before the trip.
