Taoweng Baihe Chuntian is a renowned no-choice restaurant in Hualien, where the Amis chef prides himself on using the freshest catch of the morning and the seasonal veggies and fruits to create an array of yummy aboriginal goodies. Much to your delight, a meal here will make your eyes as happy as it will make your taste buds.

The unique name is a lovely combination of the Amis names of his and his two daughters. Making a reservation ahead is obligatory as all the ingredients are purchased on the day they are served — absolute freshness is obviously their philosophy. The assorted seafood cold platter is no doubt a favorite of many. Served on a driftwood plank, the cold platter is literally a carnival of flavors and texture, including cheekily chunky sashimi, bamboo shoots, grilled Babylon shells, and many more — a real feast to the eyes and the stomach. The breadfruit topped with baked cheese is an aboriginal treat and pleasant surprise, leaving one asking for more. At Taoweng Baihe Chuntian, every single dish is a piece of fine art, prepared to perfection and deliciously decorated.
