Yongfu Corner Restaurant

Attraction stories

If you are in trouble knowing what to eat at Alishan, Yongfu Corner Restaurant is guaranteed as a good choice that will satisfy you. Trust us, look past the restaurant's simple external appearance and décor, as well as the parochial decorations on the table- don’t let your surface impression deceive! Instead, look around at all the guests enjoying the signature dishes of camellia oil chicken (苦茶油雞) and know that the endless diners come here for a reason! Chicken is fried before being drizzled with camellia oil, making even the sauce very tasty. If you are visiting in the winter season, between November and February, the Alishan specialty of peas with large pods (大莢豌豆) appear on dinner tables. Peas as big as bananas are really crisp and refreshing. Alishan also grows horseradish as its specialty, so anything with horseradish in the menu is sure to be yummy. Rice noodles flavored with sesame give the whole restaurant a beautiful aroma, and mountain-grown vegetables have a sweeter taste than those you would find in the city. But the most memorable dish of all must be wasabi tofu (芥末豆腐), which has a bite that tickles the tongues of even the bravest. However, take note that Yongfu Corner Restaurant closes every Tuesday and Friday. Also, the tofu shop in Alishan is closed on Monday, meaning that the restaurant cannot provide wasabi tofu on that day. Make sure you plan accordingly to ensure you get to eat the wonderful flavors of this mountain-side gem.
