Longyin Temple venerating Ji Gong (also known as Chan Master Daoji) is one of the important attractions in Chukou Village. This is the last flatland before one enters the mountainous terrain, serving as the entrance to Alishan. Before continuing their adventures into the mountains, many hikers would make a brief stop at Longyin Temple and burn some incense sticks to pray for a safe journey. Believers also come here to ask for advice from the deity. Try to pose some questions as you might get a response from Ji Gong. You never know!
Two rope bridges constructed during the Japanese rule and crossing the Bazhang River can be seen near the temple — Eternal Bridge and Everlasting Bridge. It is rumored that if two lovers cross the bridge together and kiss at the crest of it, they will be together forever and ever in eternal and everlasting happiness.
