For many people, mornings can be complete chaos, but apparently not for the laid-back crowd in Hualien. Tucked away on Jiangou Road, this hole-in-the-wall breakfast spot is where locals come in the early morning to kick-start their day and please their stomach. The homemade sesame flatbread is what the loyal patrons keep coming back for. Every morning, the owner makes the dough completely by hand. Packed with an omelette with chopped scallions, the flatbread that has a thin crispy layer and soft center coming straight out of the hot metal barrel is simple yet delicious. And that’s how champions kick off their days.

The No Name Breakfast is also nicknamed “A-Po Breakfast” by the locals. As there is no specific address and name to help you locate this place, first of all, you need to find the intersection of Second Section of Jianguo Road and Jian Road, and the eatery is just facing the Family Mart across Jianan Street. Besides the signature sesame flatbread, you should also give it a go on their homemade pan-fried buns and spicy dried radish strips. The buns come in two flavors: cabbage and leek. With the generous serving of fresh filling, these pan-fried buns are a perfect match with the appetizing spicy dried radish strips that add a nice kick and flavor to the whole thing.
