Ed's Diner

As a cosmopolitan city, Taipei adapts to exotic culture and food more quickly than other cities in Taiwan. With Taiwanese innate perception of the prices for different kinds of cuisine, people in Taipei would be hard to accept a bowl of luroufan (魯肉飯, braised pork rice) costing TWD100 but would not hesitate to pay TWD300 for a hamburger. As a consequence, there are only a few traditional Taiwanese foods but lots of western foods almost everywhere in Taipei where rents and prices are relatively high. However, between so many American restaurants still exists a difference of good or bad. If not a chain restaurant, a small diner without gorgeous decoration must attract customers by fresh ingredients and its masterly culinary skills.

Located near Miramar Entertainment Park, Ed’s Diner is an American restaurant with western chefs. There are always crowds of people waiting in lines to dine in the small diner with less than fifty seats. The most featuring dish is pork rib, which carries a slight scorching smell and brings a juicy and tender mouthfeel, makes you want to have more after finishing one. Also, its hamburger fully covered with cheese and crispy French fries truly make a perfect combination.
