Shunfuyu

Although the districts in Hualien City only have about a population of about 30,000 each, the local cuisine is abundant. In addition to Bomb Scallion Pancake (炸彈蔥油餅)and Gongzheng buns (公正包子) which are well-known among tourists, locals have their own list of most-loved foods. Shunfuyu, situated opposite the a-zone of Hualien Cultural & Creative Park, is the scene of long queues at every meal time because of its cheap prices and delicious fried rice and fried noodles. Fried rice is beautifully done, smelling the aroma of scrambled eggs is almost like tasting the flavor of the pork. The sliced noodles are enjoyably chewy, and the taste of the soup broth is perfect. Even more than these, scallion pancake (抓餅) is a must-try, its crisp and refreshing flavor making people follow one bite after another. Although the seats tend to be full, and you will probably need to queue for longer than you would normally want to wait for a meal, for just TWD100, you will be able to eat a satisfying and memorable meal. Shunfuyu is definitely worth it!
