Nanbin Night Market

Once upon a time, there were two major night markets in the city of Hualien: Nanbin Night Market (南濱夜市) and Ziqiang Night Market (自強夜市). Nanbin Night Market was relocated and renamed Rainbow Night Market in 2014, while the popular Ziqiang Night Market was officially closed in 2015, where most vendors have been moved to Zhongshan Road near the old train station, located between Beibin Park and Nanbin Park. The relocated night market includes the old Ziqiang Night Market and Rainbow Night Market, collectively known as East Gate Night Market (東大門夜市). If you are missing Ziqiang Night Market like everyone does, East Gate Night Market will feed your nostalgia for this all-time favorite spot in Hualien.

Unlike most tourist night markets, Rainbow Night Market is more like what local people had as children.
