Duosang serves up old-fashioned, classically flavored Taiwanese food, with some famous Hakka dishes on offer too. Situated in an old wooden house, the color red features strongly, in lanterns, wall decorations and tablecloths, giving the impression of a strong Chinese influence. There are all sorts of nostalgic antiques inside, such as movie posters, old records, gramophones, cabinets and farming tools. The lighting is dim and the dining is simple. The benches are hard and wooden, but suit the old-fashion décor here.

The best dish on offer at Duosang would have to be the ginger intestines (薑絲大腸) which go down especially well with a good old Taiwan beer. The signature dish here is pork knuckles in a red sauce (紅煨虎掌), Luosi rolls (螺絲捲), which is similar to milk steamed buns, and lard rice (豬油拌飯), which used to be a staple food in times of poverty in Taiwan.

Duosang is situated a short distance from the marble-shipping Hualien Harbor, which is a perfect place for a stroll after your feed. But Duosang should be most recommended for serving up straightforward food in a unique way, allowing you to have a taste of the history of Taiwan while you are visiting.
