When visiting the bustling city of Hualien, you will find a quaint little eatery serving authentic Japanese cuisine featuring fresh local produce and seasonal items. The owner himself was born and bred in Japan, which explains why the interior is decorated with touches of traditional Japanese elements, creating a relaxing and warm environment.

The extensive menu is divided into noodles, rice, teishoku (set meals) and other side dishes such as onsen tamago (hot spring eggs). Deep-fried pork chop is the signature dish here. It’s deliciously juicy and succulent, giving you that heavenly feel in every bite you take, with the portion being rather huge as well. We recommend you to go for the one with curry rice. The curry sauce is separate from the rice, so customers can decide themselves if they want to pour the sauce over the rice or they simply want a dipping sauce to go with with pork chop. The sauce is rich and flavorful, and the potato and carrot wedges cooked in a bath of fragrant curry sauce are soft, creamy and irresistible.

The set meal is generous both in portion size and variety, coming with the main course, miso soup, rice, stewed dish, side dish and dessert — a wonderfully delicate and filling kind of meal.
