Border Town Teashop

Housed on the banks of the Meilun River, Border Town Teashop has an entrance decorated with cherry blossom trees — the quintessential image of Japan — giving one a sense of being on the streets of Japan. However, it is actually a Yunnanese restaurant built with characteristic Japanese architecture. The owner and the chefs are of Yunnanese origin, who are proud to serve up authentic Yunnan cuisine with a Taiwanese touch.

Border Town Teashop’s specialties include the almighty hot & spicy chicken, sliced boiled pork mixed with shredded onions, coriander and fresh tomatoes, Wrinkly Old Man Tofu (deep-fried egg tofu with a garlic soy sauce) as well as deep-fried shrimp patties. Whether your taste buds like the simplicity of more traditional dishes or more sophisticated selects, the expansive and innovative menu will satisfy all palates with cravings of the Yunnan cuisine.
