Located in the Jinlun Village of Taitung, Kiokai Ni Santo Yosef, also known as St. Joseph Church, is the largest Catholic church along the east coast. Renovated in 2007, the church incorporates cultural elements of the local Paiwan tribe. For example, the totem on the façade of the architecture is commonly seen on the traditional aboriginal headwear, and other significant elements of aboriginal culture such as clay pots and the hundred-pace snakes can also be found throughout the church.

From murals, sculptures to ornaments on the door or pillars, the church boasts a medley of wood-carved artworks with biblical figures, including Jesus and Mary, wearing traditional costumes of Paiwan people. The sacred altar is adorned with distinctive Paiwan totems, and even the Stations of the Cross are painted with images of the hundred-pace snakes on the stained glass windows, creating a harmonious fusion of religion and local culture.
