CMP Block Museum of Arts

The CMP (China Metal Products) Block Museum turns streets into art. As one of the largest foundry companies in Asia, it has constantly expanded to include construction, hotels and, now, the arts too. This particular attraction was initiated between the CMP department store and Eslite Bookstore in 2006. The museum covers 7500 square meters of street block areas. It also includes an indoor exhibition hall which has been transformed from school buildings and the outdoor space into a Sundial Farm and the Invisible Cottage. Before its development into the Block Museum of Arts, the park lane was old and crowded. So too was the department store nearby, which used to be a deserted paring lot. After much money and effort, the whole area has been turned into the crisp, modern space that it is today.

The CMP Block Museum aims to be a “living museum” in which there are no boundaries between art and its consumers. Therefore, visitors to the Block Museum of Arts themselves become an important part of the exhibition. All the creations on display here are approachable and interactive. Its uniqueness has attracted many business and charity activities, which have turned it into a creative market on holidays.
